f) Activating the drive control unit
First switch on the remote control (transmitter), see chapter 9. c) and 9. d), if you have not already done so!
Only now should you turn on the drive control unit.
You may need to programme the drive control unit to specify the neutral setting, and full acceleration
forwards and backwards.
g) Checking the driving and steering function
Before every trip you should check that the remote control (transmitter) settings are correct and whether the vehicle
reacts appropriately to control commands.
As described in Chapter 9. e), the vehicle should be placed on a suitable base (e.g. a start box) or similar
stand to allow the drive to turn freely.
• Set the trimming on your remote control such that the drive does not move when the gas/brake lever is in the neutral
setting.
• Set the steering trim so that the wheels are aligned forward when the dial on your remote control is in the middle
setting.
If the trim range is not sufficient for correct setting, the servo lever on the servo axle needs to be adjusted or the servo
rod "LA2" needs to be turned (see chapter 7. g).
• Make sure that steering reacts appropriately to the remote control. If the wheels react in the opposite direction, e.g.
when using a pistol-grip remote control (dial to the left, wheel to the right), then activate the reverse function.
The same applies for forward/reverse: If the drive control unit has a braking function, it may be necessary to activate
not only the reverse function on the remote control but also to interchange the two motor cables (between the motor
and the drive control unit).
Please also note the operating instructions of your remote control.
h) Attaching and fastening the car body
Guide the tube of the antenna from underneath the car body through the hole intended for that purpose. If no opening
is present, use an appropriate tool to make the hole in the right place.
Now put the car body on the holders and fasten the vehicle panelling with the holding brackets removed at the start.
Your car is now ready for its first test run!
