i) Rear axle: Shock tower, suspension arms, shock absorbers
Check whether the bearing "K1" is sitting correctly on the axle stub
and insert the floating axles (D) into the axle stubs. Insert the swing
shaft (E) between the differential and the floating axle.
The rear shock tower is attached to the differential with 2 self-tapping
screws (A) (thread length 10mm). Then each of the two suspension
arms are mounted each with two bolts (B and C) as shown in the
figure (the long bolt is for the bottom suspension arm and the short
B
one is for the upper).
Then mount the rear front bumper with two counter-sunk screws (8mm
C
thread length). In addition you need to insert a reinforcing strip between
the bumper and the shock tower with 2 self-tapping screws (thread
A
length 10mm).
Finally you need to mount the two shock absorbers
(F). The M3x12 screw (G) attaches the shock absorber
to the shock tower, the self-tapping screw (H thread
F
D
length 15mm) is for attaching to the suspension arm.
E
Do not use force when tightening the screws!
Affix the shock absorbers to the left and right side of
G
the vehicle at the same mounting positions / holes.
Ensure also that the plastic sheath at the upper end
of the shock absorber is lying towards the shock tower,
as the shock absorber will otherwise not be able to
move freely.
