Seasoning
Insert t he reversible charcoal grat e w it h t he recess point ing dow nw ards.
Place barbecue light er cubes under t he barbecue briquet t es (approx. 2kg) and light t hem. (Only use
light ers t hat conf orm t o DIN EN 1860-3)
Heat up t he f ully assembled grill t o 200°C. For best result s, you should regularly place hardw ood chunks
pat ina t hat becomes t hicker over t ime. This prot ect s t he grill f rom environment al eff ect s and helps pro-
duce t he aroma.
Keep t he t emperat ure at 200°C f or about 2 hours.
Keep t he lid closed during t he seasoning process.

Ventilation system

The RÖSLE grill has t he opt imum vent ilat ion syst em
f or barbecueing w it h charcoal as t he air supply – and
t ed by means of t w o air vent s (t op and bot t om).
To operat e t he t op vent , slide t he vent handle t o
t he desired posit ion. Alw ays w ear barbecue gloves
w hen doing so.
In t he case of t he bot t om vent , you slide t he lever
To burn properly and produce t he desired t empe-
rat ure, charcoal requires an adequat e supply of air.
When light ing t he charcoal, set t he lever f or t he
bot t om vent t o " High" and f ully open t he lid. In
t o light t he charcoal quickly.
The grill t emperat ure achieved depends on a number of f act ors such as t he air supply, t he qualit y and quan-
t it y of t he charcoal, and t he ambient t emperat ure.
Depending on t he barbecueing met hod you are using, t he t emperat ure required in t he grill w ill be higher
or low er. A great er supply of air w ill produce a higher t emperat ure, w hereas less air w ill allow barbecueing
at a low er t emperat ure.
To increase t he t emperat ure, set t he bot t om air vent t o " High" and f ully open t he t op vent . To obt ain a
low er t emperat ure, set t he bot t om air vent t o " Low " and only part ially open t he t op vent .
As you use t he grill you w ill discover over t ime w hich air vent set t ing is best suit ed t o your pref erred
barbecueing met hod and t he f ood you are cooking.
Removing the ash pan
Warning – hot surf aces! Risk of skin burns f rom hot surf aces.
Alw ays w ear prot ect ive gloves.
Bef ore removing t he ash pan f rom t he grill, make sure t hat t he charcoal is complet ely ext inguished and
has gone gold.
For removal purposes, it is easiest t o access ash pan f rom t he back (below t he lif t ing handle).
Now lif t t he ash pan slight ly and t w ist it ant i-clockw ise; it can t hen be low ered and removed.
Dispose of t he cold ash w it h your normal household w ast e.
M ake sure t hat t he ash pan is properly engaged in t he ret aining cat ches on all sides.
