the engine support.
6. Fit warning sticker
(self-adhesive)
F 36 82 1185 R
Stick warning sticker (2) on the underside
panelling (1).
If necessary, the warning sticker is to be fastened
with 4 blind rivets (not contained in the installation
kit) (see also note on page 2).
Only vehicles without underside panelling
F 36 82 1276 R
Stick warning sticker (2) on the radiator cover (1).
If necessary, the warning sticker is to be fastened
with 4 blind rivets (not contained in the installation
kit) (see also note on page 2).
Alternative installation point
A possible alternative installation location is below
on the radiator casing.
7 . Carry out function check
of control unit
Immediately after making the control unit
connections, carry out a function check as follows:
- Connect battery again
- Turn ignition key to position "0"
- Create sparking distance of approx. 2 mm
between high-voltage line and ground post in
engine compartment.
- Press down bonnet contact switch (to simulate
the closed bonnet)
A visible spark must jump to ground at intervals of
approx. 1-1.5 seconds
The function is deactivated when the bonnet is
open or ignition key is on position "R".
If there is a malfunction, carry out a visual
inspection of the vehicle fuses and check
connections with multitester.
8. Installation overview of the high-
voltage wires of all vehicles
Only vehicles with M43/M44 engine
