PROGRAMMING THE ALARM SYSTEM
6.1 - Assigning the HSTS2 touch screen to the HSCU2 control
panel
The following paragraphs describe how to program the HSCU2 alarm system
at the basic level .
Before programming all devices, you must first program the HSTS2
touch screen keypad and assign it to the HSCU2 control panel .
Note – Place the control panel and other devices on a table without their bat-
teries (for removing the batteries and setting the functions of the individual
devices, refer to the accessory data sheets).
6.2 - Assigning the HSTS2 touch screen keypad to the control
panel
For the HSTS2 to communicate with the HSCU2 control panel, it must be
assigned to it as follows:
01. Invent Installer and User codes (4 to 8 digits) and enter
them in the following table. Important! – The codes must be
different. See 6.2.1 - "Definition of the three types of code".

b) fig. 32: Press point (1) and push the base up (2) .
c) fig. 32: check that the memory board "A" is fitted correctly (4) (do not fit
the batteries) .
03. On the control panel:
a) Shut off power to the control panel and remove the backup battery on
HSCU2GC and HSCU2C models .
b) - HSCU2W and HSCU2GW: hook up the battery pack;
- HSCU2C and HSCU2GC: power up the control panel .
The control panel will beep when it powers on .
04. On the touch screen:
a) after the control panel has beeped, and within one minute, fit the batter-
ies into the touch screen .
b) You are immediately prompted for the Installer and User codes .
05. The touch screen and control panel are now assigned to each other .
06. Close the touch screen casing (for programming the control panel, see par .

IMPORTANT – Do not shut off power to the control panel during the syn-
chronisation procedure .
6.2.2 - Report management
Enabling this function on the HSTS2 touch screen allows you to assign scenar-
ios and commands to individual or groups of automations (for example, turning
lights on, closing shutters or combinations of these) when the alarm system
detects certain specified events .
Caution – When you activate this function, you must use the touch screen with
rechargeable batteries on the HSTSA1 recharging base (not included) .
To activate the function:
01. Turn the touch screen on and press the icon
02. Scroll with
and select "Union"
03. Select "Reports" and press "SI" to activate the function .
6.2.3 - Definition of the three types of code
Installer code – This code is a sequence of 4 - 8 digits which gives access to
programming functions with the installer's permissions . Normally, the installer
programs and configures the alarm system; he has access to all programming
functions, including system reset, but cannot arm or disarm the alarm .
User code – This code is a sequence of 4 - 8 digits which gives access to
selected programming functions . Normally, the user operates the system day
to day (e .g ., reads the event log, switches off a detector for a period of time,
etc .) . The user code allows you to arm and disarm the system .
Access codes – These are 5 digit sequences which only allow you to arm/
disarm the alarm system . The access codes are usually assigned, – one per
person, – to persons you wish to be able to arm and disarm the alarm system .

It is best not to assign a single code to multiple users, otherwise it is hard to see
who has been operating the system from the event list .
