ENGINE 1.9 dCi - Engine code F9Q
•
If the glow plug is still intact and does not unscrew using the
standard spanner, use the Torx spanner supplied with the kit
(ref. 1952 003 261), and try to unscrew acting on the upper
stem (fig. 1).
•
If the glow plug is already broken or the previous procedure
fails, drill and remove it.
N.B. During this procedure, all or part of the
electric connection could come out. In the first
case do not drill and carry out immediately the
tapping.
If the operation with the Torx socket does not succeed, use the
"roller" extractor (among the three supplied Ø2.5 - Ø3.5 - Ø4) to
remove the terminal part of the electrode of the spark plug (fig. 10).

Tools required: Wrench □ 3/8"
If necessary, in the case part of the central electrode should
remain, take the conical driving sheath (among the two
provided with inner hole Ø2.7 - Ø3.6) and put it on the
remained part of electrode (fig. 11).
Reference codes: 1952 003 204, 1952 003 205
Use the extension + bit (among the two supplied with tip Ø2.7 or
Ø3.6) to remove the portion of the electrode remained (fig. 11).
Reference codes: 1952 003 206, 1952 003 207
Tools required: Electric drill
Make the pilot hole for the extraction of the glow plug (fig. 12)
using the long cylindrical spiral bit Ø5,5 (M10) included in the kit.

•
Remove the injector.
•
Assemble the guide block for drilling (ref. 1952 003 242)
fixing it to the motor in the seat of the injector (fig. 13); take
the guide-body (ref. 1952 003 241) and introduce it into the
seat of the guide block until it leans on the seat of the glow
plug (fig. 14).
•
Introduce the double bit with handle (ref. 1952 003 596,
contained in 1952 003 212) (fig. 15) and with an electric
drill start drilling until the bit does not reach the standstill (fig.
