Glow plugs have to resist to high temperatures, high
pressures, vibrations and corrosive agents released during
combustion.
The bit of the glow plug has to be placed with great
accuracy to set on fire fuel. It does not have to penetrate
the cumbustion chamber too deeply as it could trigger the
combustion incorrectly.
For these reasons replacing glow plugs is a problem;
furthermore, they often break in their seat.
If the glow plug is still intact and does not unscrew using the
standard spanner, use the Torx spanner supplied with the kit
(ref. 1952 003 261), and try to unscrew acting on the upper
stem (fig. 1).
If the glow plug is already broken or the previous procedure
fails, drill and remove it.
N.B. During this procedure, all or part of the
electric connection could come out. In the first
case do not drill and carry out immediately the
tapping.
