Setting and using the machine in working mode
CAUTION!
Before setting the machine to working mode, check that alarms or expired maintenance intervals are not shown
on the display (32, Fig. E) (see Display Functions paragraph).
Set the machine to working mode according to the following procedure:
1.
To release the 3rd broom, remove the spring catch of the chain (6, Fig. U) from the transport position (1) on the 3rd broom arm
(2) and open the valve (3) by turning the lever for 90° (the lever must be parallel to the lifting cylinder (4)).
2.
Hook the spring catch on the hole (7, Fig. U) of the arm extension of the 3rd broom (5).
CAUTION!
When the working cycle is ended and the transport cycle starts, fasten the 3rd broom arm by engaging the
spring catch on the original transport position (1) and closing the valve (3).
3.
Remove the safety pin (1, Fig. V) of the broom arm (2), by removing the cotter pin (3) to allow for lowering with the relevant
control. Perform this procedure both on the right and left arm.
CAUTION!
When the working cycle is completed and during transport, install the safety pin (1, Fig. V) in both broom arms.
4.
If the broom tilting is to be increased or decreased, screw or unscrew the tie rod (4, Fig. V) as necessary.
5.
Start the engine as shown in the relevant paragraph.
6.
Select the "slow speed", by pressing the upper part of the switch (21, Fig. E).
CAUTION!
The speed change can be performed only if: The gear selector (11, Fig. D) is in central position (neutral), the
brake pedal (4, Fig. D) is pressed and the machine is stopped.
7.
Turn the accelerator lever (2, Fig. D) to idle.
8.
Turn the potentiometer (12, Fig. E) to idle, by turning it fully counter-clockwise.
9.
Check that the hopper (2, Fig. G) is lowered and that the warning light (8, Fig. E) is off.
10.
Check and, if necessary, top up the dust control system water tanks, and check which symbol (12, Fig. H) turns on:
main tank and sub-tank are full
main tank is empty and sub-tank is full
main tank and sub-tank are empty. In this condition, the dust control system and high-pressure washing system turn off
after about 5 seconds.
!
failure in the dust control system tank water level detection or visualisation system. Contact a Nilfi sk Service Center.
CAUTION!
A safety system turns of the water pump if the water level in the tanks is insuffi cient for an interval of 10
seconds or more.
11.
Enable the hydraulic system by pressing the lower part of the switch (31, Fig. E).
WARNING!
When the hydraulic system is enabled, when pressing the switch (31, Fig. E) the engine speed automatically
reaches 1,100 rpm.
Pay careful attention when driving because the machine accelerates all of a sudden.
12.
When turning the potentiometer (12, Fig. E) clockwise, the engine speed can be adjusted up to 1,850 rpm.
CAUTION!
If 1,950 rpm are exceeded when working, a safety system stops the accessory system and the rpm number (1,
Fig. H) fl ashes to warn about the fault.
