• «Cleaning frother, Do not remove h.p.» appears in the display.
• The rinsing takes place automatically and lasts approx. 20 seconds.
• The display shows: «Connect hose pipe with spout and put in drip plate.»
• Connect the hose to the drip plate (Fig. B).
• Press the Control button to confirm.
• «Cleaning frother, Do not remove h.p.» appears in the display.
• An automatic rinsing cycle takes place again for approx. 20 seconds. The appliance
is then immediately ready for operation again.
TIP: Empty the drip tray (6b) and the grounds holder (6C).

5.4 Cleaning the system

When the appliance needs to be cleaned, «Cleaning necessary» appears on the display.
In order to carry this out, you will need the cleaning tablets enclosed in your Welcome-
Pack and which you can order from us.
☛ Y ou can still draw coffee, hot water and steam. We would recommend that the
cleaning program should be carried out as soon as possible, however.

The program can also be carried out when no display has appeared.
Please note: The running cleaning program must not be interrupted.
Only add the cleaning tablets when indicated in the display.
Turn the Control button (2) to the symbol in the Main menu:
• Press the Control button to confirm.
• Turn the Control button to «Cleaning the system» and press it to confirm.
• The display alternately shows «Empty trays» and «Fill up water».
• Remove the drip tray (6b) and the water tank (14) and clean everything.
• Fill the tank with fresh water and re-insert the tank and the drip tray.
• The appliance will carry out two short rinsing cycles. «Cleaning tablet in pow-
dershaft» then appears in the display.
• Open the powder shaft (16), place the cleaning tablet in it and close the lid again.
«Start cleaning» is displayed.
TIP: Place a sufficiently large receptacle (approx. 0.5 l) under the coffee outlet (5).
• Press the Control button (2).
• The appliance starts the cleaning process. The display indicates «System cleans».
• The cleaning runs automatically and takes approx. 10 minutes. Display: «Empty trays».
• Empty the drip tray (6b) and put it back into the appliance.
• Fill the water tank (14) with fresh water again if necessary.
• The appliance heats up briefly and is then ready for operation again.
