1. Safety instructions
• T his appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications, such
as: staff kitchen areas, in shops, offices and other working environments; in farm
houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments; in bed and
breakfast environments.
• Only connect to alternating current with the voltage indicated on the type plate.
• Only use the appliance and the power cord if they are both undamaged.
• Place the appliance on a level, solid surface, and only use it indoors.
• Never place the appliance on hot surfaces or near open flames.
• P ersons, including children, who are not able to use the appliance safely due to
their reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or their lack of experience and
knowledge must not use the appliance without supervision or instruction from by a
person responsible for their safety.
• Unplug the appliance when not in use for longer periods (several days).
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Never wash the appliance or individual parts in a dishwasher.
• A lways follow the cleaning and descaling instructions! All benefits under the guar-
antee will become void in case of non-observance.
• U nplug the equipment immediately if it is defective (never pull on the power cord or
the appliance itself).
• I f the supply cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu-
facturer, its customer service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
• W e will assume no liability for possible damage resulting from incorrect operation,
improper use or unprofessional repairs. All guarantee benefits are void in such
cases.
Please note: Operating the On/Off switch (9) while brewing can damage the appli-
ance! You may only switch off the equipment when the appliance is in a passive state!
CAUTION: HOT LIQUIDS CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS!
When drawing steam or hot water, it can happen that hot water could spray out of the
outlet / spout (5) at the start! Only touch the outlet when it has cooled down.
