You should first test the water with the enclosed test strips:
• Briefly dip the strips into the water and shake off excess water.
• You can read off the result after approx. one minute by counting the red dots
• The different levels are divided as follows:
– 1 red dot
– 2 red dots
– 3 red dots
– 4 red dots
If no dots are red, set Level 1.
The factory setting is Level 3.
• Turn the Control button (2) to the desired level.
• Press the Control button to confirm the entry.
• «Please rinse» appears in the display. Press the Control button.
• The system will now be rinsed.
• T he main menu will appear on the display as soon as the system is ready for
operation.
Filling the system
As the machine is still fresh from the factory, it is possible that the water lines in the
appliance may not yet be filled with water when you use it for the first time. The appli-
ance will indicate this as follows:
• Once the appliance has been switched on with the On/Off button (9), the display
«Filling the system» appears.
• Place a sufficiently large receptacle (approx. 0.5 l) under the outlet (5).
• Press the Control button (2). The system will now be filled and some water could
drip out of the outlet.
• The command «Please rinse» appears once the system has heated up.
• Press the Control button (2). The system will now be rinsed.

2.4 Switching on when in continuous operation

All the steps mentioned above are only carried out during the very first operational
start-up. Proceed as follows for all the subsequent switch-on procedures:
• Switch the appliance into the Stand-by mode with the Main power switch (7), and
then into the Ready mode with the On/Off button (9).
• «Heating» appears in the display, followed by «Please rinse».
• Place a receptacle under the outlet (5) and press the Control button (2).
• The system will be rinsed.
• The main menu will appear on the display as soon as the system is ready for
operation.
