• Remove the water tank (17) and rinse it with cold clear tap water.
• Fill the tank to the maximum mark and place it into the coffee machine. Please
make sure that it clicks into place well when inserting.

Use only clear cold water when filling the tank, and never use carbonated water
or other liquids.
• Open the cover to the bean holder (18) and fill it with coffee beans.

Never use beans which have been treated with additives, such as sugar, during
or after roasting. This can damage the milling mechanism, and any such
damage is not covered under the guarantee.
• Please make sure that the steam/hot water dial (11) is set to 0.

2.2 Using your coffee machine for the first time

• Pull the power cord from the cord compartment (15) and plug it in.
• Switch on the power switch (7).
• On the display is: SYSTEM is HEATING (otherwise please see «Filling the system»
below).
• After the coffee machine has heated up, the display will show PLEASE RINSE and the
service button (2) will blink.
• Press the service button (2) and the system will be rinsed out through the coffee out-
let (8).
• Your coffee machine is now ready for operation.
TIP: Hold a receptacle under the output in order to collect the water.

You may rinse the coffee machine through the coffee outlet (8) at any time
during normal operation by pressing the service button (2).

Filling the system

Since the machine is fresh from the factory, it is possible that the water lines in the
coffee machine are not filled with water when you use it for the first time. In this case,
it will be indicated as follows:
• After the machine is turned on with the power switch (7) the Fill up pipe-system
alternates with TURN valve
• Open the steam/hot water dial (11) by turning it clockwise. The system will now be
filled and some water could drip out of the jet (12).
• As soon as TURN valve appears, turn the dial (11) counterclockwise to turn it off.
• The service button (2) will blink and Please rinse will appear after the system has
heated up.
• Press the service button (2) and the system will be rinsed out through the coffee outlet (8).
• Your coffee machine is now ready for operation.
