Chapter 3, Using the Orion G Gas Utility Instrument
• The LEAK flag turns ON
• The audible ticker begins to tick
• The combustible sensor is turned OFF; measurement of LEL or
CH
is not possible
4
• All other gas readings are not displayed.
NOTE: The Orion G instrument will continue to monitor for
alarm conditions on the oxygen and toxic sensors if
installed. Should an alarm occur, the type of alarm
will display on the Orion G display.
All sampling accessories, if used, must be removed from the
end of the leak detection sensor before operating
the instrument in the leak check mode.
The audible tick rate increases proportionally as the leak sensor
is moved closer to the source of the combustible (methane) gas
leak. The ticker can be zeroed at any time by pushing the
RESET button. For best results, zero the ticker in fresh air each
time the ticker page is activated.
