Use
The NEOX is a wheelchair for users with different
disabilities and needs. Transfers from the wheel-
chair to, for example, a bed, toilet or shower and
vice versa can be made in different ways. The
extent to which the wheelchair user can cooperate
determines how he or she should be lifted. Both
active and passive transfers are possible with the
NEOX, possibly with the help of the caregiver or
with the help of a lift.
Getting in and out of the wheelchair yourself
Warning:
•
Apply the wheelchair brake before entering
or exiting.
•
Do not use the brake as an aid to stand up.
n Flip up the footplates.
n Operate the leg rest pull lever and rotate the
leg rest outward and/or remove the leg rest.
In the case of a lateral transfer, you can remove the
sides if necessary.
Overcoming hurdles
When overcoming obstacles independently, Life
& Mobility advises extensive practice under the
guidance of a therapist.
Warning:
•
When going up a slope, the center of gravity
will shift backwards, making it easier for the
wheelchair to tilt backwards.
Life & Mobility advises less experienced users to
adjust the wheelchair less actively and to equip it
with anti-tipping supports.
