Easy access and maneuverability in motor vehi-
cles can be significantly affected by the size of
the wheelchair. Smaller wheelchairs with a shorter
turning radius generally offer better vehicle ac-
cessibility and better maneuverability to a forward
position. The NEOX has a good rating with regards
to fixability according to ISO 7176-19:2008 annex D.
n The Neox must be transported with the user
in a forward position. The wheelchair must be
secured in accordance with the instructions of
the restraint manufacturer.
n The NEOX must be secured with anchoring
systems that are suitable for the 4 attachment
points.
n The wheelchair user must use an approved
3-point seat belt in the taxi bus. These seat
belts must be attached to the taxi bus.
n The lap belt should run low over the user's waist.
The angle between the belt and the floor area
should be between 30° and 75° (a larger angle
is more desirable) (see Figure 2).
n The lap belt should run across the front of the
body at the point where the hip and pelvis
meet. The belt must fit snugly to the body.
n The upper belt must fully support the user as
shown in Figure 3.
n The diagonal belt should run over the shoulder
and chest as shown in Figure 4.
n The belts must be sufficiently tight and not
uncomfortable for the user
n The belt must not be twisted.
n The belt must not lie against wheelchair com-
ponents (such as armrests or wheels), which
2
means that the belt no longer fully supports
the user's body (see Figure 5).
n The approved 3-point safety belt is intended to
prevent injury to the head and chest.
