occupant in it in a taxi bus. See also the sticker on
the wheelchair that is located on the upper frame
tube on the front right under the seat mat.
n Attach the wheelchair with occupant to a taxi
bus with an approved 4-point restraint system.
n In addition, use an approved 3-point safety belt
for the safe transport of the wheelchair occu-
pant.
Note:
•
The normal sitting position belt is not intended
to be used as a seat belt.
Ramps and other obstacles
(see also page 32 onwards for more information)
n The wheelchair is more likely to tip over on a
slope than on a flat surface.
n Always move backwards off a sidewalk to pre-
vent the wheelchair from tipping forward and
the occupant from falling out. Never go down
the stairs alone in the wheelchair.
n Never drive the wheelchair up a slope with an
angle of more than 7°
n Ask someone to help you if you're not sure if
you can reach the top of the slope by your own
strength.
n Lean or push your body toward the top of the
slope. This shifts the center of gravity of the
wheelchair forwards or backwards and reduces
the risk of the chair tilting forward or backward.
n The person pushing the wheelchair must conti-
nue to push the chair to prevent it from starting
to move backwards under its own power
n Do not turn on a steep slope. When the wheel-
chair is perpendicular to a steep slope, the risk
of tipping over is high.
n Keep your speed under control when descen-
ding slopes.
