A screen saver prevents an image from
being burned into the screen by displaying
an icon representing the Digital Sound
Menu
at different locations
on the screen.
To adjust the display brightness
1 Keep pressing DISPLAY until the
CURSOR CONTROL indicator and the
ENTER indicator flash.
2 Adjust the brightness
of the display
using CURSOR CONTROL «ad or >.
To cancel the setting during
Press CANCEL instead of ENTER at any
point; the unit returns to the state it was in
before you pressed DISPLAY in step 1.

Although
the screen saver display appears
and the icons flash if you do not press any
of the buttons for more than a minute, the
setting procedure is not interrupted.
Press
CURSOR CONTROL, ENTER, or
CANCEL, whichever is appropriate, and
continue with the setting procedure.

Adjusting the Audio
Emphasis
You can adjust the audio emphasis in the
following three functions:
eDigital parametric equalizer
eDigital presence surround effect
Digital dynamic sound effect
Adjusting the Sound
(digital parametric
equalizer)
You can adjust the sound by raising or
lowering the levels of specific frequency
ranges.
Before operation, first select the Digital
Sound Menu that you want for your basic

2 Select OPE by using CURSOR
CONTROL

ENTER.
The DPE1 adjustment screen appears.
You can set this unit so that one of
three audio ranges is adjusted: DPE,
DPE2, and DPE3.
The unit is set as follows when it is
shipped from the factory.

The adjustable frequency range can be
freely moved left and right (low ++
high) along the frequency scale as
explained in the next step This allows
each of the frequencies
(DPE1 - 3} to be
used for any frequency range.
For example,
DPE1 does not have
to be
used to adjust a low-frequency range.
but can be used instead to adjust a mid-
or high-frequency
range by moving it to
the nght along the scale.
3 Adjust the sound by using CURSOR
CONTROL.
<j or > : Shifts the frequency cange to
be adjusted to the left or to
the right.
Raises or lowers the level of
the frequency range centering
around the flashing dot.
