2 Installing the Instrument
Safety agency requirements dictate that there must be a way to physically disconnect
the ac mains cable from the unit. A disconnect device, either a switch or circuit
breaker must be provided in the final installation. The disconnect device must be
close to the equipment, be easily accessible, and be marked as the disconnect device
for this equipment. It must meet the input ratings requirements listed in the previous
table.
Starting with firmware revision B.06.03.985 and up, ac mains wiring without a neutral
connection may be used. Refer to
firmware version is installed on your instrument.
A solidly-grounded Wye-type ac mains transformer is required. This may be on-premise or part of the
electric utility equipment. If the neutral is to be used, it must be a separate conductor from earth
ground (Protective Earth (PE)).
