Using E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX
WARNING!

The unit creates a very strong vacuum.

9.1
Before start-up
The unit is tested before delivery and all functions are checked.
Before start-up, ensure that:
•
The maintenance switch is installed.
•
The installation room, if small, has ventilation openings. See
Section '8.1.1 Indoor installation'.
•
The antistatic plastic bag is in place in the collector bin.
NOTE!
Never run the unit without an antistatic plastic bag!
•
The duct system is connected to the dust collector inlet.
•
The compressed air supply is permanently connected. Filter cleaning will
not work properly without a compressed air supply.
•
The PS cable is connected (if automatic start and stop is implemented), or
that terminals 3–4 in the start and control unit are linked by a jumper (if
no PS cable is connected).
9.2
Initial start-up
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock.
Work with electric equipment is to be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The initial start-up is to be performed with the acoustic enclosure removed to
verify the direction of rotation. Refit the acoustic enclosure when all checks
have been performed.
NOTE!
Ensure that no valves at any workstations are open.
9.2.1
Checking the direction of rotation
For the position of switches, see Figure 12.
To check the direction of rotation:
1.
Connect power by turning on the maintenance switch.
2.
Turn on the emergency switch below the control panel.
3.
Turn the standby and reset switch to position Reset.
4.
Turn the standby and reset switch to position 1 (standby).
NOTE!
If E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX is connected to a PS cable,
it will only start if the manual start button is pressed or a pilot signal is
triggered, for example, by the opening of a valve at a workstation.
NOTE!
If E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX is NOT connected to a pilot
signal, it should start immediately if terminals 3 and 4 in the start and
control unit are linked by a jumper, see Section 6.1 Start and control unit.
