ENSURE THE REAR MATING CONNECTOR IS FIRMLY SCREWED
Ensure the rear mating connector is firmly screwed to the rear output terminal. This connector comes together with
the instrument and is connected to the rear output terminal.
DO NOT REMOVE REAR MATING CONNECTOR
- Do not remove the rear mating connector as it acts as safety cover to the rear output terminal.
- Rear output terminal connection must be performed with the presence of mating connector.
ENSURE COVER IS SECURED IN PLACE
Do not operate the device with the cover removed or loosened.
TURN DEVICE OFF AND REMOVE ALL CONNECTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING THE GPIB INTERFACE
Turn off the power and remove all connections, including the power cord, from the instrument prior installation of the
GPIB interface.
ENSURE PROPER AWG CABLE IS USED
Use a cable with the correct voltage and AWG rating based on the intended setup when operating the E36731A
battery emulator.
DO NOT TOUCH CABLES DURING OPERATION
Do not touch the cable while the instrument output is operational to prevent electric shock hazard and burn hazard.
DO NOT CONNECT FRONT AND REAR OUTPUT TERMINAL CONCURRENTLY
Do not connect the front and rear output terminal concurrently for the same output channel. Failing to observe the
connection requirement could potentially raise a fire hazard if the output current exceeding 40 A.
LETHAL VOLTAGES AND CURRENTS
- Keep away from live circuits. This instrument operates up to 60 V
and 40 A
at its output terminal and sense
DC
DC
terminal.
- SHOCK HAZARD. Floating voltage must not exceed 240 V
. The total voltage on the output terminal and the
DC
floating voltage must not be more than 240 V
from chassis ground.
DC
- The output terminal is designed for DC application. Ensure that transient voltages do not exceed 480 V
.
PK
- The connector screw terminals will be at hazardous potential when in operation.
- Personal injury on contact may result if these terminals are touched when equipment is in operation.
- To avoid injuries, always disconnect power, discharge circuits, and remove external voltage sources before any
installation.
- Installation procedures must be performed by a qualified and trained personnel on this equipment.
DO NOT REMOVE THE INSTRUMENT COVER
Operating personnel must not remove instrument covers. Component replacement and internal adjustments must be
made only by qualified service personnel.
CLEANING
To prevent electric shock, unplug the unit before cleaning.
COIN BATTERY REPLACEMENT
- Be sure to use battery (KPN 1420-0356) for the coin battery replacement.
- Incorrect battery type and battery polarity used during the battery replacement can cause damage to the
instrument.
- Refer to E36731A Service Guide for coin battery replacement procedures. Battery replacement must be made only
by qualified service personnel.
