Danger of personal injury due to incorrect instruction. This operating manual is not a substi-
tute for the safety manual. It is assumed that the safety manual has been read and under-
stood.
•
Height adjustment, 3-stage: Raise the driver's seat to the required height until it audibly
locks into place. If the driver's seat is raised above the highest setting (end stop) it will
drop back down to the lowest position.
•
Backrest adjustment: Adjustment of the seat back is by means of the locking lever 52.
Allow it to lock in place.
•
Longitudinal adjustment: The adjustment is released by lifting the locking lever 51. Allow
it to lock in place.
•
Weight adjustment: The driver's seat is adjusted for the driver's weight by turning the
weight adjuster lever 50 with the driver's seat empty. The set weight can be read from the
indicator.

Wear the safety belt 53 at all times when driving.
Adjust the rear-view mirror to give you a good overview of the area behind the vehicle.
1. Set the gear-change lever 10 and PTO shaft lever 15 to 0.
2. Depress the clutch pedal 6 fully.
3. Insert key in the ignition switch 1 (position 1).
-
Turn clockwise (position 2). Indicator and warning lights must come on.
-
Turn clockwise (position 3). The Pre-heat indicator (28, yellow) must light. Pre-heat.
The approx. pre-heating times at outside (or engine) temperatures are:
-
3 (to max. 10) seconds at 20 °C,
-
5 (to max. 10) seconds at 20 °C,
-
10 (to max. 15) seconds at -25 °C.
To prevent excessive wear on the glow plugs do not exceed the pre-heating time indicated
in brackets. Do not pre-heat when engine is warm.
4. Turn to operate starter (position 4). Do not run the starter for more than 15 seconds.
5. The control lights for oil-pressure 21 and alternator charging 23 must go out when the en-
gine is running; if they do not, switch off engine immediately.
-
If the oil-pressure indicator lights:
There is no oil pressure and therefore no lubrication. Check the oil level, check the
electrical connections, replace the oil-pressure switch or look for other causes of the
fault.
-
If the charge indicator light comes on:
The battery is no longer being charged. Check the drive-belt for the cooling system
and alternator and examine the electrical connections.
CAUTION
Run in the engine carefully during the first 50 hours of operation (never use full throttle for an
extended period). Also monitor the oil-pressure and charge indicator lamps during operation.
Fill the engine with the recommended engine oil (see engine instructions manual). At tem-
peratures below the freezing point special winter diesel fuel should be used.
1. Release accelerator.
2. After use under heavy load, allow the engine to idle for a few minutes before switching off
(temperature equalisation).
3. Turn back the key (Position 1).
