1. Calculate the load comparison factor fv with
the aid of the formula for combined loads
(è Chapter 11 Technical data) and read the
lubrication interval S
2. Lubricate the roller bearing guide at all
relubrication openings 7 (permissible oil
è Chapter 9 Accessories).
Amount of lubricant at each relubrication
opening:
– ELFA-RF-70: 1.0 ... 1.5 ml
– ELFA-RF-80: 1.5 ... 2.5 ml
For checking the cover band:
• Check the cover band after every 2000 km of operating distance.
Waves on the cover band are a sign for wear of the band reverser.
• In case of wave formation, tighten the cover band as follows:
1. Loosen screws aB (è Fig. 9).
2. Push the cover band into the end cover.
3. Retighten the screws with 2 Nm.
If the cover band can no longer be retightened, the level of wear of the band reversers is too great
and they must be replaced (spare parts è www.festo.com/spareparts).
