Attaching the breakaway cable

Danger!
Always secure the trailer with chocks before com-
mencing any maintenance or preventive mainte-
nance work!
The overrun device is an integral part of the braking
system. Irrespective of the maintenance intervals
for the overrun device, the braking system must
be inspected in an authorized specialist workshop
after 1500 km or 6 months.
During maintenance, preventive maintenance and
inspection work, all system components must be
checked for operational safety and perfect techni-
cal condition
Checking the braking system does not dispense with
the need to carry out the prescribed maintenance
measures for the overrun device.
every 6 months:
Clean external teeth lock washer
Apply water repellant grease
Grease stop lever
every 10000 - 15000 km or every 12 months:
Grease or oil slip-, and hinge points of the inertia
braking system (

Check the shock absorbers of the inertia braking sy-
stem.
Preventive maintenance
White rust on hot-dip galvanized vehicle parts does not
affect safety and can be reduced by means of the follow-
ing measures:
Ensure good ventilation when parking or storing hot-
dip galvanized parts.
After winter operation, wash the hot-dip galvanized
surfaces with clean water (e.g. steam-jet cleaner).
