[7] Charger indicator lamp
The lamp indicates that the unit is connected to the
battery charger and mains power supply. The lamp:
lights green:
the battery charger is functioning
correctly;
lights yellow: an incorrect battery charger is
connected to the unit.
Connection of a battery charger other than the
prescribed charger can adversely affect the
safety of the patient and the functioning of the
unit, and is therefore not permitted.

CONTROL PANEL

(see fold-out sheet at front and back)
Selection of the therapy form takes place through
the push-buttons [8] and [9]. After which the param-
eter settings are chosen with push-buttons [10] up
to and including [14]. The memory is operated
through push-button [15] and [16].
The symbol of the chosen setting will blink during a
period of 10 sec. after the push-button is pressed.
Pressing the push-button again, when the symbol is
still blinking, will activate the next possibility as the
actual setting chosen (and will blink).
The parameter values of push-button [10] - [14] and
[16] are adjusted by means of the Central control
[17]. The parameter values can be altered as long
as the symbol is blinking.
[8] Selector button therapy form
Using this button, you can select from:
Electrotherapy
Combination therapy
Ultrasound therapy
[9] Selector button electrotherapy current type
A selection can be made of the following current
types:
Two-pole interferential current
Asymmetrical biphasic pulse
current (TENS)
Medium-frequency interrupted
direct current (Gi)
[10] Selector button carrier wave frequency,
phase duration and ultrasound frequency
Depending on the chosen therapy form, the follow-
ing parameter settings can be changed:
carrier wave frequency (kHz) with two-pole
interferential current
phase duration (µs) with asymmetrical biphasic
pulse current
ultrasound frequency (MHz) with combination
therapy and ultrasound therapy
[11] Selector button stimulation frequency and
duty cycle ultrasound
Button for the adjustment of the stimulation fre-
quency for two-pole interferential current, asymmetri-
cal biphasic pulse current and duty cycle for ultra-
sound therapy.
[12] Selector button memory - Sonopuls 490
By means of this push-button a choice can be made
to store or retrieve a program from the memory. The
program number is changed by the Central control
[17]. For the operation of the memory, we refer to
chapter "operation" of this manual.
[12] Selector button frequency modulation and
modulations programs - Sonopuls 491
Button for the adjustment of the frequency modula-
tion (spectrum). As soon as a frequency is set the
modulation-symbol will become visible on the dis-
play. After pressing the push-button once more, the
modulation-symbol will blink and a modulation pro-
gram can be chosen with the Central control [17].
[13] Selector button burst frequency and timer
Adjustment of a burst frequency is only possible for
asymmetrical biphasic pulse current (and when no
frequency modulation is set).
[14] Selector button CC/CV and display function
ultrasound
The electrotherapy channel can be used with either
constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV). The
CV characteristic is recommended for use with dy-
namic electrode techniques, and for combination of
electrotherapy with ultrasound.
The following parameters can be indicated on the
display:
ultrasound intensity in W/cm²
average power in Watt
[15] Confirm button
Button for the confirmation of "to retrieve a program
from" or "store a program into" the memory.
