BALANCING PROGRAMMES

At start-up, by default, the wheel balancer executes
the Dynamic programme which uses clip weights on
both sides.
The balancing programmes can be recalled by sim-
ply selecting on the touchscreen the icon for the
weight according to the type of rim and professional
experience:
if the weight to be applied is a spring type
or
if the weight to be applied is adhesive.
Each combination of weights corresponds to a specific
balancing programme that will be display in the top
part of the screen (e.g.. dynamic, alu1, etc.).
Note: a different type of weight can also be selected
at the end of the dimension measurement and unbal-
ance calculation cycle.
Note: the Static programme, that uses only one
weight, is activated by selecting the icon for the
desired weight on the touchscreen and disabling the
icon that is not required.
POSITION INDICATORS AND
ALARM INDICATOR LIGHTS
The wheel balancer has two indicators for the posi-
tioning of unbalances.
Each indicator has a button for changing the unbal-
ance unit of measurement from grams to ounces
S78 Touch - Operator's manual
and vice versa.
By selecting the central part of the indicator, an
automatic centred position search starts if the
unbalance is higher than zero.
At the end of the dimension and unbalance meas-
urement cycle, warning indicators may come on if
the set acceptable tolerances are exceeded (see the
"Wheel balancer parameter configuration" section):
1.
WARNING OPT
This recommends performing the unbalance
optimisation procedure. Select the icon to start
the unbalance optimisation procedure (see the
"Unbalance Optimisation programme" section).
2.

procedure. Select the icon to display the radial
runout measurement of the wheel assembly when
the icon is selected, the radial run-out measured
for the wheel assembly is displayed if a wheel
assembly is mounted, or the radial run-out at the
seats of the tyre bead if a rim only is mounted
(see the "Runout programme" section).
3.

PROGRAMME CHANGE
