1.4 Battery and Charger Safety
•
Recharge only with the Garant chargers.
•
Power your equipment with the Garant battery pack only, product number 85819,
85820 or 85821. The use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
•
Keep the battery out of reach of children and in the original package until ready to use.
•
Check that the power switch is off before inserting the battery pack.
•
Remove the battery from your power head when not in use.
•
Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or
modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
•
When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a
connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a fire.
•
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
•
In case of damage and improper use of the battery, vapors may be emitted. In the case of
vapor emission, turn off your device and seek fresh air away from the fumes. Seek medical help
in case of complications or overexposure to vapors to avoid damage to the respiratory system.
•
Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to
fire or temperature above 212°F may cause an explosion.
•
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may explode. Check with local codes for
possible special disposal instructions.
•
Keep your battery pack clean to avoid a poor connection.
•
Do not keep the battery on the charger when it is not being charged.
•
Keep the battery charger away from rain or damp environments. Water penetration into
the battery charger increases the chance of damage or fire.
•
Before each use, check the battery charger, cable, and plug. If damage is detected, do
not use the battery charger.
•
Do not operate the battery charger on easily flammable surfaces (e. g., paper, textiles,
etc.) or surroundings. The heating of the battery charger during the charging process can
pose a fire hazard.
•
Use the battery only to power your power tool. Do not use your battery on other tools or
for any other purposes.
•
Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or battery pack (as applicable) except
as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
