1. General Safety Rules
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS before operating this product. The safety instructions
in this manual are designed to protect your safety and guide your use of this Garant battery
charger 85823. Failure to read and understand the following information may create an unsafe
workspace which could constitute risk of electric shock, explosions, fire, or chemical reactions.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
CAUTION: Use this charger with Garant 62V rechargeable batteries only, product number
85819, 85820, 85821, 85822 or similar. Charging other types of batteries with this charger present
a fire and general safety hazard.
CAUTION: Before using battery charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on battery
charger, battery, and product using battery.
1.1 Charger Safety
Place the charger far from any heat source. Store the charger at normal room temperature.

Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children.
Do not modify your plug in any way. Do not use adapter plugs or use the charger with any

outlet that does not match the plug.

Do not expose charger to rain or wet conditions.
Do not abuse cord or charger. Never use the cord to carry the charger. Damage to the

cord or charger could occur and create an electric shock hazard. Replace damaged cords
immediately.
Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts.
