7. Maintenance and Cleaning
WARNING: Regular inspection is the most important step to proper maintenance.
By following the guidelines below, you can maximize the safety, durability, and
effectiveness of your snow shovel. Should you identify any damaged or excessively
worn parts, replace them immediately.
WARNING: Remove the battery pack from the edger before inspecting, cleaning, or
performing maintenance.
WARNING: When servicing, use only the manufacturer's recommended
replacement parts and accessories.
WARNING: Never let petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in
contact with plastic parts.
NOTE: For repairs and service, please work with an authorized service dealer, which can be
located by calling 1 800 463-7040.
7.1 General Maintenance
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from
various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to
remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products,
penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage,
weaken or destroy plastic which can result in serious personal injury.
WARNING: When cleaning the snow shovel attachment, DO NOT immerse it in
water or other liquids.
