10. Installation
m ATTENTION!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before start-up!
Hand Grip (9), (fig. A)
When operating the compactor, use this hand grip (9)
to maneuver the compactor.
Throttle Control (10), (fig. A)
The throttle lever (10) controls engine speed. Moving
the throttle lever (10) in the directions shown makes
the engine run faster or slower.

Engine switch (On-Off) (c), (fig. H)
The engine switch (c) enables and disables the igni-
tion system. The engine switch (c) must be in the ON
position for the engine to run.
Turning the engine switch (c) to the OFF position
stops the engine.
Check before operation
Check
• Look around and underneath the engine for signs
of oil or gasoline leaks.
• Look for signs of damage.
• Check that all shields and covers are in place, and
all nuts, bolts, and screws are tightened.
Checking the engine oil
• Take the oil dipstick and clean.
• Insert the oil dipstick in and check the oil lever with-
out screwing down.
• If the oil is too low, add the recommenced oil in.
• After finishing, reassemble and screw the oil dip-
stick down.
Check fuel
• First stop the engine, open the fuel cover, and
check oil level. If the oil level is too low, add the fuel
to full, after finishing, screw the fuel cover down.
• Don't add the fuel over the shoulder of the carburet-
tor when fueling (maximum oil level).
• Recommended octane rating over 90 unleaded
gasoline For unleaded gasoline, can make carbon
deposit muck less and enhance exhaust system
service life.
• Don't use used and contaminated or gasoline with
oil , Avoid the dirt and water entering into fuel tank.
Starting engine (fig. G - J)
• Close the choke
(but leave it open
motor is already warm)
• Move the gas lever (10) to the starting position
• Set the start switch (c) to "on"
• Pull the starter cord (3) strongly
• Motor is running – slowly open the choke
• Move the gas lever to the working position
• Plate compactor will begin to function
Forward motion
The plate compactor moves forwards automatically
when the throttle is opened fully.
m ATTENTION!
Do not operate plate on concrete or on extremely
hard, dry, compacted surfaces. The plate will jump
rather than vibrate and could damage both plate and
engine.
