GENERal INFoRMatIoN

The electric juice extractor and steamer have
been manufactured using stainless steel . It's a
material that is ideally suited to its intended use .
This material was classified as physiologically
harmless to food by the German Health Office
(BGA) .
The pigments used in the plastic handles are also
free from lead and cadmium .
ClEaNING
Caution! Never immerse the heating element of
the steaming unit (8) in water!
Always disconnect the power plug (9) before
cleaning and then use a damp cloth to clean the
interior and exterior surfaces .
If limescale deposits build up, they can be re­
moved by regular descaling with vinegar and
water or a commercial descaler . Always fill the
appliance with clean water and boil after desca­
ling .
The stainless steel surfaces are smooth and easy
to clean .
Do not use steel wool as it will damage the stain­
less steel or glass surfaces .
Scouring agents also make stainless steel surfaces
rougher and more easily soiled .
uSING tHE aPPlIaNC5E
FoR tHE FIRSt tIME
Fill the steaming unit (8) of the BHG 645 with ap­
prox . 3 . 7 5 litres of water, i . e . up to the "MAX . " level
indicated .
Ensure that the minimum water level does not
drop below the middle of the round heating el­
ement while the appliance is operating (fig. 1) .
If it does, the dry­running protection feature
will be activated and the appliance will switch
off .
Refill the cooled steaming unit (8) with wa­
ter before using it again for juice extraction or
steaming . For this always allow the electric juice
extractor / steamer sufficient time to cool down
before refilling it with water to avoid the risk of

scalding due to steam formation . Furthermore
the surface of the appliance can be damaged by
fulminating tension .
Stand the steaming unit (8) on the surface on
which you want to use the BHG 645 .
Please keep in your mind, that you need a suf­
ficiently large, flat area for placing the bottles
during filling . Please ensure that the outlet tube
(5) reaches into the bottle neck without bending
before starting the device .
Ensure that the power plug (9) doesn't lop or rest
against the device . Please also Ensure that the
power plug (9) can be accessed easily at all times .
Place the juice collection container (3) on top
of the steaming unit so that the outlet with the
outlet tube (5) (for collecting juice) or the silicone
bung (4) (for steam cooking) is positioned at the
front so that it can slot into the steaming unit (8) .
Next, place the sieve insert (2) in the juice collec­
tion container (3) and
place the fruit, vegetables or herbs you have
prepared for juicing in the sieve insert and
cover with the glass lid (1) . Fill the sieve in­
sert (2) no more than ¾ full, regardless of
weight .
