11. To deflate the low pressure cuff, withdraw air slowly from the luer valve of the
inflation line using a syringe.
Removing Tube
12. Before removing the entire tracheostomy tube, fully deflate the cuff (if present)
with a syringe. This will ensure that the cuff passes through the stoma with
minimal resistance.
Cleaning
WARNINGS
• Do not use solutions or chemical agents other than those recommended in
Table 4 to clean any part of the Shiley™ Tracheostomy Tube XLT, as this may
result in damage.
• The Shiley Inner Cannula XLT and Shiley TTH Tracheostomy Tube Holder
should not be cleaned or reused.

Rinse Gently with Sterile Saline. Air Dry.

Clean with hydrogen peroxide
(half-strength), sterile normal saline,
or water and mild detergent.
2.
After cleaning thoroughly rinse with
sterile saline to remove any cleaning
solution residues.
3.
Air dry.
