4.3 Sterilization Instruction:
This device is not intended to be sterilized. Equipment damage may occur.
4.4 Cleaning and Disinfection Instruction:
WARNING:
•
Do not use bleach or products that contain bleach to clean the device. Injury or
equipment damage can occur.
•
After each use, clean the device with alcohol-based wipes.
•
Do not put the device into water. Equipment damage can occur.
•
Use a cloth and a quaternary ammonium disinfecting/cleaning solution to clean
and disinfect the device.
•
Read and follow the manufacturer's recommendation for low-level disinfection.
•
Read and follow the cleaning product's instructions. Use caution in areas where
liquid can get into the mechanism.
•
Wipe the device with a clean, dry cloth.
•
Make sure that the device is dry before you store it or use it again.
The following are suggestions for how to care for, clean, and maintain the Allen
C-Flex.
• Always use the C-Flex Disposable Cover during procedures to keep blood and
other contaminants from entering the device.
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of the device is recommended.
• The exterior of the device should regularly be wiped clean with
a quaternary ammonium or similar type of disinfectant compound according
to the manufacturer's directions. Wipe the device dry with
a soft lint-free cloth.
• Do not allow any liquid to enter the interior of the device.
• Do not pour or spray any liquid directly onto the device.
• Do not submerge the device.
• Avoid exposing the device to excessive moisture.
• Head Modules should be cleaned in the same manner as the Base Unit.
NOTE: Failure to thoroughly dry the device after cleaning may result
in degradation of the internal mechanisms.
