Type 3638 A's measurement system comprises the following:

• Mediator Integrating Sound Level Meter Type 2238 (Type 2238 and Type 2239 A are
optional sound level meters with Type 3638 B)
• Sound Level Calibrator Type 4231
• Tachometer Type 2979 for use when normal acoustic detection of engine RPM is not suitable*
• Hard carrying case with foam compartments for all instruments and accessories (both supplied
and optional)
• Easy-to-use system controller integrated in the case's interior, which drives the sound level
meter. The controller includes a built-in printer for instantaneous reporting and LED indicators
for (RPM) throttle control setup
