basic tasks

Various fastening systems are used when mounting
the individual components. The  following section
describes how to install the individual systems.
5.2.1. Fastening with bolts and masonry anchors
1. Mark out the drill holes: Make sure there is
sufficient distance to the edge. This must be at
least twice the length of the anchor. This pre-
vents the material from cracking or chipping.
2. Drill the holes: The size of the hole depends
on the size of the anchors. The size is marked
on the anchor. For example, a size 6 anchor
requires a hole diameter of 6 mm.
3. Hole depth: An anchor fastening will only hold
if it is deep enough to take the bolt. This means
the hole depth depends on the bolt length.
The hole should be 5 mm deeper than the bolt
length.
4. Clean the drilled holes: Masonry dust impairs
the strength of the anchor. Therefore, always
blow or vacuum out the hole.

5. Put in the anchor: Put the anchor into the hole
until it is flush with the wall. Take care not to
damage the anchor when inserting it.
Damaged or used anchors must always be
replaced.
5.2.2. Fastening with HAS... / HIS anchor bolts
These anchors may only be used in rein-
forced or unreinforced normal concrete with
a strength class of between C20/25 and C50/60
(according to EN 206:2000-12).
The anchor bolts are only suitable for crack-
free concrete. Optionally, anchor bolts are also
available for cracked concrete.
The foundation for the anchors should be dry.
Before using the anchor bolts, the strength
of the structure must be ascertained in order
to ensure that the reaction forces can be
absorbed.
Take care not to damage the grout cartridge
during transport, as otherwise the adhesive
cement will harden.
Do not use defective or old grout cartridges
(see the use-by date).
