3.9 Autotune procedure

The autotune function on series 15 controllers automatically determines the regulation
parameters and avoids manual adjustment procedures at power up. To use it, proceed as
follows:
6. Make sure that the controller is calibrated, configured, installed, and correctly
connected. If not, refer to the appropriate chapters.
7. Check in particular that the proportional band ("Pb" parameter) is not zero, since if it
is autotune of P-I-D is
impossible. Check the LOCK parameter, it must be set to NONE

NOTES:
•
The AT indicator (or the display unit) does not light if PB = 0 or Ti = 0, because the
controller is an On/Off mode. Similarly, the procedure will be aborted if autotune is triggered
too close to the setpoint temperature or if the installed power is insufficient to reach the
setpoint.
• Depending on the regulation temperature and the inertia of the load, the autotune
may take more than 2 hours. As long as the AT indicator flashes, the autotune is in
operation.
• For an Emergency stop of the autotune procedure in progress, press the R key .

3.10 Ramp and timer functions

STATOP series 15 controllers can be configured to perform a ramp at power up. This
function allows a gradual approach to the setpoint, what might be called a "Soft Start"
function. In addition, a timer is built into the controllers, in order to configure the alarm relay
as a time-delay relay. This function can be used in combination with the ramp to provide a
"soak" function.
