Note: The fowler and knee
gatch will move simultaneously
while transitioning to the
seated position.
Scale
Note: The scale will weigh
up to 500 pounds with the
patient in any position and
the bed in any configuration.

Bed Exit Alarm
®
Note: For the Bed Exit alarm
signal to be heard in the
nurse station, the bed must
be equipped with the optional
nurse call function. For beds
without the optional nurse
call, the alarm signal will be
heard only in the patient's
room.
Press and hold the cardiac chair
button (located on the footboard)
until the bed reaches the seated
position .

Press the Enter button to
activate the display .
2 .
You must zero the scale before
placing a patient on the bed .
3 .
Press and hold the zero button
until
the
screen
"Release to Zero ."
4 .
Follow the subsequent on-
screen instructions .
ZEROING THE SYSTEM:
Note: The Bed Exit system MUST be
zeroed before use.
1 .
Zero the scale if not already done
(see "Zeroing the Scale System" in
your Operations Manual) .
ARMING THE SYSTEM:
Following the zeroing of the system, the
Bed Exit system may now be activated:
1 .
Place the patient in the bed . Ensure
the patient lies in the bed in their
usual position before activating Bed
Exit .
2 .
Activate Bed Exit by pressing ARM
/ DISARM . The status LED will light
up .
3 .
To deactivate Bed Exit or to turn
it off, press ARM / DISARM . The
status LED will turn off .
Refer to your GoBed II Operations manual for additional information.
WARNING
The weight system (optional)
is intended to assist in the
monitoring of the patient's
weight variation. Under no
displays
circumstances
should
readings be used as sole
reference for medical treatment.
WARNING
The Bed Exit system (optional) is intended
only to aid in the detection of a patient
exiting the bed. It is not intended to
replace patient monitoring protocol.
The Bed Exit system signals when a
patient is about to exit the bed. The
addition or removal of equipment with the
Bed Exit system armed must be completed
(see "Adding or Removing Equipment with
the System Armed" in your Operations
Manual). Otherwise, the sensitivity of the
system may be affected and the reading of
the patient's movement in the bed will be
inaccurate.
Failure to set the zone properly could
result in improper monitoring and patient
injury.
Verify that the proper zone is selected
before leaving the patient.
The Bed Exit system (optional) is not
designed to be used with patients
weighing less than 50 pounds (23 kg).
