Danger of explosion through overheating caused by dust deposits!
The accumulation of dust can cause the cylinder valve unit to overheat. The surface can no
longer cool down and is heated at uncontrollable rate. The resulting heat build-up presents
an explosion hazard.
Regularly remove dust deposits. Set binding cleaning intervals.
Danger of explosion due to contamination!
Regular cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of the cylinder valve unit are indispensable
for safe operation. Contaminants in the cylinder valve unit increase the risk of explosion in
dust explosion protection areas.
You must comply with the specified inspections (see section 9.2 on page 73) and
cleaning intervals.
Damage to the cylinder valve unit!
Contact with liquid or corrosive media can damage the cylinder valve unit and impair its
function.
Avoid contact between external liquid or corrosive media and the cylinder valve unit.
Damage to the surface caused by solvents and aggressive detergents!
The seals on the valve may age faster under aggressive ambient conditions.
Never use solvents or strong detergents.

Cleaning the cylinder valve unit

DANGER
NOTICE
Cylinder valve units used in explosive areas require regular
cleaning.
The system owner must specify cleaning intervals in line with the
ambient conditions at the operating site.
Proceed as follows:
1. Make sure that all relevant system parts are not under
pressure or voltage before you clean the cylinder valve unit.
Protect the system against being switched on.
2. Allow the cylinder valve unit and adjacent parts to cool before
cleaning.
