9. Operation of the remote control

From this point on, the numbers used in the text throughout these operating instructions always refer to
the illustration alongside the text or to the illustrations within the respective section. Cross-references to
other illustrations will be indicated by the corresponding illustration number.
a) Inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries into the transmitter
The transmitter requires 8 AA alkaline batteries or rechargeable batteries. For ecological and economical reasons it is
recommended to use rechargeable batteries, since they can be recharged in the transmitter through the built-in charging
socket. To insert the batteries, please proceed as follows:
• The battery compartment lid (1) is on the back of the
transmitter. Press the corrugated area and push off the
lid downward.
• Remove the plug (2) and pull out the battery box (3).
Insert 8 batteries/rechargeable batteries. Always make
sure the polarity of the batteries is correct. The polarity
is indicated at the bottom of the battery box (3).
• Reinsert the battery box into the transmitter and make
sure that the two guide slots snap into place (4, 5).
• Reconnect the plug (2) and reattach the lid (1) to the
transmitter.
When using rechargeable batteries, you can attach a charging cable to the charging socket (see ill. 1b, pos. 18) while
the transmitter is switched off to charge the rechargeable batteries in the transmitter. Always make sure the polarity of
the connecting plug is correct. The inner contact of the charging socket must be connected to the positive terminal (+)
and the outer contact to the negative terminal (-) of the charger.
The charging current should correspond to approximately 1/10 of the capacity value of the inserted rechargeable
batteries. For rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 2000 mAh, the charging current will be approximately 200 mA
and the charging time about 14 h. To prevent damage to the internal circuitry and connections, do not use a fast
battery charger.
Caution!
To charge the rechargeable battery of the transmitter, do not use the provided power supply intended
for the flight battery! This would cause irreparable damage to the transmitter!
When the rechargeable batteries are fully charged or new batteries have been inserted, switch on the transmitter with
the power switch (see illustration 1, pos. 13) to test it. The voltage indicator of the transmitter shows the current voltage
of the inserted batteries or rechargeable batteries (ill. 1a, pos. 15).
