13. Trimming the helicopter

Important!
Before you start using the helicopter with its rotors turning, check all screwed connections on the model.
It is important that all rotating parts can turn smoothly but have no play in the bearings. All screwed parts
must be securely tightened and not come loose due to helicopter vibrations. You should always carry
out this check between flights.
Even if you have set the rotor head absolutely precisely, your helicopter will always show a tendency to fly in a certain
direction. This can be corrected very simply with the trim sliders on the transmitter. Push the control stick for the pitch
function forward carefully and observe how the model responds.
Shortly before the helicopter starts hovering, you can already determine in what direction your model is about to move.
If necessary, you can re-adjust the controls on the remote control (see ill. 1a, pos. 5, 6) so that the model helicopter
starts hovering when the control stick for the pitch function is in middle position.
If the helicopter turns to the right with the tip of the fuselage, reduce the speed and push the trim slider for the tail
function (ill. 15b) gradually to the left. Push the control stick for the pitch function forward carefully and check if the
adjustment is sufficient. Keep repeating this procedure until the helicopter no longer has any tendency to turn to the
right. If the tip of the fuselage turns to the left, carry out a trim adjustment to the right (ill. 15b).
