7. Connection

The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors on the end.
The video signal (PAL) is available through the BNC connector. Use a suitable adapter if you
cannot use an BNC video cable.
The camera is connected to the external power supply via the round socket (direct current,
12 V/DC). A suitable round plug is needed for the connection, outer diameter 5.5 mm, inner dia-
meter 2.1 mm. The outer contact of the round plug should be Minus/"-", the inner contact Plus/"+".
The camera will be damaged if it is not connected correctly or if it is connected to the
wrong voltage; loss of warranty!
If you install and use the camera in outdoor areas, the two connectors must be placed in a loca-
tion that is protected from moisture. Please see Chapter 6. If this is not observed, the connectors
will corrode!
Set the correct input channel on the display device, to display the camera image.
If necessary, the camera has to be correctly oriented so you can monitor the desired fi eld of view.
At the front of the camera, there is a setting option for the zoom lens; you can also correct the
focus accordingly to sharpen the image. For this purpose, see chapter 8 .
In the dark, the IR LEDs are activated automatically. However, the LEDs are not visible to the
human eye. Please bear in mind that the image on a connected monitor will not be displayed in
colour at night, but in black and white instead.

8. Adjusting Zoom, Focusing the Image

The camera is equipped with a manually adjustable zoom
lens; it is also possible to focus the image.
At the front of the camera you will fi nd two adjusting regu-
lators for this purpose that are labelled "ZOOM" (A) and
"FOCUS" (B).
Use a suitable screwdriver to rotate the adjusting regulator.
Do not exert any force.
First, adjust the desired zoom area ("ZOOM" dial); then
sharpen the image ("FOCUS" dial).
If necessary, correct the alignment of the camera on the instal-
lation bracket.
