e) Setting function "WHITE BAL"
The camera provides various options for how to achieve the white balance. Thus, it can be
adjusted to widely varied lighting conditions and ambient conditions.
As a rule, it is suffi cient to select the automatic white balance (setting "ATW"); in this case, the
only setting is for where the camera is mounted ("OUTDOOR" = outside, "INDOOR" = inside).
However, if necessary, a specialist can set it up for special applications.
Some white balance functions have further submenus, which are displayed when you press the
button.

Automatic white balance (default): Sunlight, incandescent lights,
fl uorescent lights, etc. have different colour temperatures. The
automatic white balance ensures that white objects are correctly
displayed on the connected monitor.
"SPEED": Speed for the white balance
"DELAY CNT": Delay value for the white balance
"ATW FRAME": Colour temperature range for white balance; the
smaller the value, the smaller the colour temperature range
"ENVIRONMENT": depending on where the camera is installed,
select "OUTDOOR" for outdoors or "INDOOR" for indoors
"LEVEL": Simultaneously changes the colour balances for blue and
red relative to green
Automatic white balance, but with limited colour temperature
range (this setting should be selected if moving colour bars appear
in the image)
"B-GAIN": Colour matching for blue
"R-GAIN": Colour matching for red
Green is adjusted automatically, depending on blue and red, so no
manual adjustment is required here.
Does not apply to this camera model.
White balance on the basis of a reference object; direct the camera
toward a white object so that the camera image is completely fi lled
by it. Then press the button; this performs the white adjustment
and saves it in the camera.
