About this documentation

Documentation validity
This documentation applies to the following rodless
cylinders of the RTC and CKP series: RTC-BV, RTC-SB,
RTC-CG, RTC-HD, RTC-RR, RTC-RI, CKP, as well as CKP-CL.
Required and supplementary
documentation
Only commission the product once you have obtained the
system documentation and understood and complied with
its contents.
Related documents
The rodless cylinders of the RTC and CKP series are
system components. Also follow the instructions for the
other system components.
Additional technical data and instruction for configuring
and dimensioning the RTC and CKP cylinders is given in
the configurator on the Internet and in the AVENTICS on-
line product catalog (www.aventics.com).

About this chapter
The product has been manufactured according to the
accepted rules of current technology. Even so, there is risk
of injury and damage to equipment if the following chapter
and warnings in this documentation are not followed.

Intended use
Any use other than that described under intended use is
improper and is not permitted.
AVENTICS is not liable for any damages resulting from
improper use. The user alone bears the risks of improper
use of the product.

O The RTC and CKP cylinders should be used primarily
for industrial applications.
If the cylinder is to be used in a residential area, a
separate permit must be obtained from the local
authority or inspection center. Further information
is available on request.
Personnel qualifications
The work described in this documentation requires basic
mechanical, pneumatic and electrical knowledge, as well
as knowledge of the appropriate technical terms. In order
to ensure safe use, these activities may therefore only be
carried out by qualified technical personnel or an
instructed person under the direction and supervision of
qualified personnel.
Qualified personnel are those who can recognize possible
hazards and institute the appropriate safety measures,
due to their professional training, knowledge, and
experience, as well as their understanding of the relevant
regulations pertaining to the work to be done. Qualified
personnel must observe the rules relevant to the subject
area.
