Intended use
The end position lock is a component with a mechanical holding function for the MSC
compact mini slide, Ø 8–25 mm. You can use the end position lock to intentionally
hold the slide in the retracted position.
Permissible medium: oil-free air.
The product is intended for professional use only.
Any use other than that described under Intended use is improper and is not
permitted.
Use in safety-related applications
When using the end position lock in safety-related applications, additional measures
have to be taken to comply with statutory minimum requirements. In Europe, for
example, the standards listed in the EC Machinery Directive have to be observed.
Without these additional measures, the end position lock is not suitable as a safety-
related part of controls.

Function and application
Function: The end position lock (1) holds the slide in the retracted position.
Hold: To lock the slide, you must ventilate the compressed air connection (2) of the
end position lock. The integrated spring then activates the mechanical lock (3).
Release: To release the slide, you must pressurize the compressed air connection
(2) of the end position lock with the minimum working pressure. The slide can then
move freely.

Assembly
Preparing for assembly
Danger of injury due to stored compressed air!
When the system is at a standstill, there is still a danger due to stored
compressed air.
O Generally avoid storing compressed air.
O Ventilate the MSC mini slide on which the end position lock is to be mounted.
O Remove all other sources of danger in the immediate work area that may
result from stored energy in the system.
Prerequisite: Before assembling the end position lock on the MSC mini slide, you
must adjust the mini slide according to the intended use.
Any mounting orientation may be used for the end position lock.
1. Return all suspended loads to a statically secure position or remove them from
the system.
2. Make sure the relevant section of the system is not under pressure and protect it
from being switched on.
3. Secure self-turning or other movable system parts before starting assembly.
Assembling the end position lock
1. Manually screw the end position lock into the connection for the end position lock
(6) on the MSC mini slide up to the stop.
