Take care when overturning the fifth wheel, in a way that the new
positioning gives access to the coupling point for successive
disassembly of the lock jaw (7).

Remove the tension spring (18);
Remove the screws (30a) and

the mechanism lever plate (30):

Remove the screws (29a);

Pull the opening lever fully (19c) and
remove the entire levers/wedge block,
paying attention to keep the wedge
block lever (20) lifted upwards;

Remove the spring (6) and slide the
lock jaw out (7) see CHAP . 9
DISPOSAL page 33/35;
Insert the new lock jaw (7),blocking

it with the pin (2b);
Insert the wear ring (2c) and block it with
11)
the screws (2a) using Loctite 243 thread
locker;
Coupling torque of the screws
(2a) 100-120 Nm.
12)
Anchor the spring (6) to the lock jaw
13)
Remove the split pin (11c), and slide out the
wedge pin (12); recovering the washer (11d)
14)
Remove the wedge (11b) from the levers, see
chap. 9 DISPOSAL page 33/35 and replace them;
15)
Re-position the wedge (11b) at the levers and insert the pin (12), the washer
(11d) and the new split pin (11c) spreading the ends.

Every time this operation is performed, the split pin (11c) must

be replaced, see chap. 9 DISPOSAL page 33/35.
