UNCOUPLING
1)
Block the wheels of the semi-trailer;
2)
Lower the semi-trailer support feet until they touch the ground;
3)
Open the fifth wheel mechanism as follows:
remove the
carabiner hook (19m), rotate the safety lever (19a) upwards, take
the opening lever (19c) towards the front part of the vehicle and pull it until it
trips, which determines the blocking of the lever itself. The wedge blocking
lever (20) rises as shown in the figure.
ATTENTION: do not use drives or external devices to open the fifth
wheel. If the opening lever does not open, check that all conditions
described are respected.
ATTENTION: if the opening lever (19c) is difficult to activate, reverse with
the tractor to remove the pressure exerted by the semi-trailer articulation
kingpin on the fifth wheel lock jaw.
4)
Slowly uncouple the tractor by advancing until the semi-trailer articulation
kingpin has escaped from the coupling point of the fifth wheel by a distance of
approx. 30-50 cm.;
ATTENTION: contact must not be lost between the fifth wheel and the
semi-trailer counter-plate.
