Personnel requirements
Qualifications
DANGER!
Risk of injury if personnel are inadequately qualified!
If unqualified personnel carry out work or are in the danger area, dangers
may arise which can lead to serious injuries and considerable damage to
property.
All the activities may only be performed by personnel that is qualified and
suitably trained for this purpose.
Keep unqualified personnel away from hazard areas.
NOTICE!
Only persons who can be expected to carry out their work reliably can be
approved as personnel. People whose ability to react is impaired, for instance
by drugs, alcohol or medication, are not permitted.
When selecting personnel, the age and occupation-specific regulations
applicable at the place of use must be observed.
It is imperative to ensure that unauthorised persons are kept well away.
Obligations on the part of personnel
The personnel must:
n
follow the applicable national laws and regulations, as well as the operator's
regulations on occupational safety
n
read and follow the instructions in this document before starting work
n
not enter areas secured using protective measures or access restrictions without due
authorisation
n
in the event of faults that could jeopardise the safety of personnel or components,
immediately switch off the Plant and report the fault to the responsible department or
person
n
wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) prescribed by the operator
n
observe the applicable safety regulations and the manufacturer's safety data sheet
when handling chemicals
