WARNING!
Bead breaking must be done with the utmost care and
attention.
When the bead breaker pedal is operated the bead
breaker arm moves quickly and powerfully.
Anything within its range of action can be in danger of
being crushed.
WARNING!
Remember to remove all weights from both sides of
the rim before operating the machine.
1) Deflate the tyre completely and remove the valve core.
2) Close the table top gripper slides completely.
WARNING!
Bead breaking with the table top slide grippers open
can crush the operator's hands.
During bead breaking NEVER touch the walls of the
tyre with your hands.
3) open the bead loosener by hand by pushing it towards the outside.
Place the wheel up against the rubber wheel support (13, Fig. G).
Bring the blade (14, Fig. G) against the bead about 1 cm from the edge of the
rim (See Fig. I1).
WARNING! Position the blade as to operate the side of
the tyre and not of the rim.
4) Push the blade (14, Fig. G) into the tyre by depressing pedal (3, Fig. G).
Repeat this process at different points around the tyre and on both sides until the
beads are completely loosened.
WARNING: During bead breaking, care must be taken
not to deform the tyre too much as this may damage it.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of damage to the valve and
the pressure sensor (if installed), only break the bead
with the valve and sensor at 90° to the bead breaker
pressure point (at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock).
Before proceeding with the bead breaking procedure,
it is essential to identify the type of tyre being worked
on (especially when working on RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE
or UHP tyres).
The optional stroke limiter (see Fig. I/2) is required for bead breaking on RUN
FLAT, LOW PROFILE and UHP tyres.
