OPERATION
GB
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Set throttle control to 1/2. Ensure PTO is
disengaged and foot is not touching
footpedal. If the foot pedal is not in the neutral
position, the tractor will not start.
2. Turn the ignition switch counterclockwise and
hold to heat the glow plugs until the glow
indicator is no longer illuminated, approxi-
mately 20-30 seconds. This will allow the
preheating chamber to become fully heated.
3. Turn ignition key fully clockwise to the start
position and the engine will turn over and
start.
4. Release the key when the engine starts and it
will return to the "run" position automatically.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 if engine does not start.
TO STOP THE ENGINE
1. Disengage the PTO drive to the cutting
mechanism.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Move the throttle control lever to the "slow"
position.
4. Turn the ignition key to the "off" position to
stop the engine.
TO REVERSE
Gently depress the rear part of the footpedal with
the heel.
NOTES:
Use complete foot to operate both forward
and reverse. Make sure neutral latch is
pushed in.
Do not move pedal suddenly, always operate
slowly and smoothly. Never move pedal
violently from forward to reverse or vice versa.
TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP MACHINE
Gradually release the pressure on the footpedal.
On inclines, move the pedal towards neutral till
machine stops, and apply brake.
CUTTING WITH THE MACHINE
RANSOMES Frontline 951 Plus
OPERATORS MANUAL
1. Start the engine and run at lowest speed.
2. Lower the cutter decks.
3. Place tractor in 4 wheel drive mode by push-
ing the 2/4 wheel drive switch.
4. Engage any or all of the cutter decks by
pushing the proper PTO switch. Do not
engage the PTO's at full throttle.
5. Increase the engine speed to full throttle.
6. Release the parking brake and gently depress
the upper part of the foot pedal for forward
travel. Always keep foot firmly on the foot
pedal-if foot control is too relaxed a jerky
motion may result.
7. No attempt should be made to use the
machine at less than full throttle in heavy
conditions. By use of the footpedal, reduce
the forward speed to avoid the engine labor-
ing, as this could result in excessive wear.
NOTE: if the operator leaves the seat with the
PTO's engaged, or the travel pedal not in neutral,
the engine will shut off.
TRAVERSING A CURB
With the cutter decks raised and the wing decks
locked, approach the curb to be mounted slowly
and at an angle.
