c) Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to install the screws through the breakaway tab, shell, and
washer into the cap nuts. Do not overtighten or strip the screws.

If applicable, do the following:
a) Install the goggles and/or faceshield, then use a Phillips-head screwdriver to install the
goggle clips and/or faceshield brackets.
b) Install the Defender visor by sliding each quick-connect locking arm into the slot from which
it was removed. The quick-connect mechanisms will click into place when they are fully
engaged

Install the headband and ear cover.

Turn the fire helmet upside down.
(2)
Remove the ear cover and headband.
(3)
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the four screws that attach the right and left break-
away tabs, washers (if applicable), and cap nuts to the shell.

If applicable, do the following:
a) Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the goggle clips and/or faceshield brackets, then
remove the goggles and/or faceshield.
b) Remove the Defender visor by squeezing the quick-connect locking arms together and
pulling up.
(5)
Remove the impact cap assembly from the shell.
(6)
Remove all hook-and-loop fasteners on the inside of the shell and outside of the impact cap.
(7)
If necessary, do the following to remove the suspension from the impact cap:
a) Unsnap the suspension attachment points from the retaining tabs on the impact cap.
b) Pull the suspension out from the impact cap to remove it.
(8)
If necessary, do the following to install the suspension in the impact cap:
