Safety advice for the adjustments
Adjustment work must be carried out with the work
vehicle on flat, compact ground, with the tractor en-
gine off, parking brake engaged, and ignition key re-
Adjusting the spacing between the packing wheels and the ploughshare
The packing wheels (B) are used to ridge and compact
the soil around the planted seedlings.
The distance between the packing wheels and the
ploughshare must be adjusted according to the type of
ground.
Proceed as outlined below.
1) Use the lock (C) to release the knob (D).
2) Turn the knob (D) to move the packing wheels (B)
closer to or away from the ploughshare (E).
3) After adjustment, secure the knob (D) with the lock
(C).
Carry out the same operations to adjust the packing
wheels of the other planting units installed.
Adjusting the packing efficiency
Adjust the spacing between the packing wheels (A) as
required.
The farther apart the wheels are, the less efficient the
packing is.
The closer the wheels are, the more efficient the packing
is.
Proceed as outlined below.
1) Remove the pins (C) from both packing wheels.
2) Open out the packing wheels (A) as required and
then lock them in position with the relative pins (C).
3) Adjust the scrapers (B) accordingly (see "Adjusting
the packing wheel scraper").
On not very consistent soils (sandy, etc.) adjust the tilt of
the packing wheels.
The more the wheels are tilted, the more soil accumu-

The less the wheels are tilted, the less soil accumulates
